I had an interview with Capt Purnsey
the other
day
When he
left
this memorandum.
He feels unfairly treated in that he has
an assistant Who is
always
otherwise employed.
It then He thinks that there is too much work
in the harbour for
one man but allows that
there is too little for two, and wants to keep the assistant & table over the water police, now under the captain superintendent.
The retrenchment committee were decidedly of pored to this suggestion,
but he thinks his
news were not fairly represented
of
I do not think they can be entertained & the decision to abolish I the assistant must I think
